5 Lesson Program description
New for the 2011-12 season will be innovative programs that make the learning experience fun and exciting for all students. These 5 week school lesson programs are for all abilities, skiing or snowboarding. School age experiences of skiing and snowboarding in school programs are often lifetime memories and we are looking forward to making this experience something to be cherished with these progressive learning programs. Skiing and snowboarding leaves no student on a sideline or a bench no matter what ability they are, this is critical for of instilling an active lifestyle in young minds.

5 Week Lessons Students who have never skied before will learn in our Discovery teaching area. Special care will be taken to be sure that students with similar skill development progress together. This is an experience that will allow students with challenges to not have anxiety about performing as well as their peers and at the same time allow for the excelling students to not be held back from progressing quickly.

Program participants who have skied and snowboarded before will develop their skills in groups determined by terrain, pace and their goals. As with all of our lesson programs for young skiers and riders a special attention will be placed on safe and responsible actions on the hill while having fun on the slopes, all with as much skiing and snowboarding possible with in the lesson time.

New! 5 Week Lesson options New this season, three optional progressive new programs that will give choices to students who are looking for coaching in parks, racing or are just passionate about the winter sports industry. These are a great option for children and teens who no longer feel they need lessons, but want to challenge themselves in new ways. Skiers and snowboarders will need to be proficient enough to independently ski or ride on more difficult(blue squares) terrain. Students will not be in the tradition group lesson format. Coaching will occur at designated areas on the hill with progress cards given out to measure attendance, skill development, and safety awareness. Students will ski and ride in a buddy system for those participating in these optional programs coordinated by the snowsports school. Parents be sure to ask your school program coordinator if this program is an option at your school.

Freestyle Progression Zone This 5 week program is geared towards tactics, skill and most importantly safe practice on terrain park features. Students will be coached on private features to learn new freestyle tricks from our accredited freestyle instructors.

Racing Zone This 5 week program involves ski and snowboard racing for athletes/students who want to try out the thrills of gate training, while learning to turn more efficiently and ultimately ski faster through a race course.

SAM Zone Ski area operations for the aspiring ski/snowboard instructor, ski patroller or for students interested in learning how the ski area makes and maintains such fabulous snow conditions and terrain parks.
